An “upgrade” on an earlier recipe, this dark sauce still has a savoury rather than sweet taste because of the use of onion, soy sauce, ginger and garlic; however it has a little more “kick” now with the inclusion of some chilli to bring a few more notes into play! Blood plums, apple, red chillies, brown sugar, white sugar, white wine vinegar, onion, light soy sauce, fresh ginger, garlic, lemon juice, ground star anise and ground ginger.
Use as a dipping sauce for Asian spring rolls or rice paper roll. Can also be used with chicken fillets, chicken thighs, roasted duck, duck fillets, lamb backstraps or lamb fillets.
