Peach Chutney with Cranberries and Dates

Product Description

A “new kid on the block” for 2016. This Chutney is a seasonal product as it uses peaches obtained from a family country orchard. See “Serving Suggestions” for its many uses.

300g

Fresh peaches, red onions, ginger, garlic, chilli, red wine vinegar, brown sugar, dried cranberries, diced dried dates and water.

Enjoy with a generous dollop on your barbequed chicken or pork fillet or perhaps add a dollop to the side of your scrambled eggs on sourdough toast.  Alternatively add a small spoonful on the top of a water cracker biscuit or crostini with some hearty cheddar or goat’s cheese as an easy to prepare appetizer with drinks.  A nice accompaniment to your lunchtime ham sandwich.  Can also be used as a jus with your choice of meat.  For a “Fruity” Jus: put a quantity of chutney (approximately 1 heaped tablespoon per person) in a shallow pan and add a little water. Bring to the boil then reduce heat and allow to simmer until you have a slightly thickened sauce. Spoon over the meat you have cooked separately and allow the jus to drizzle on plate to make a colourful presentation.
